Biolac Possum Milk is a milk replacer formulated for possums and gliders through their entire milk dependent period. Unlike macropods, possums and gliders rely on a single formula from their earliest days in care through to weaning, with no need to progress through staged formulas. Possum Milk supports steady growth and development across the whole hand rearing journey.

Suitable for possums and gliders, such as brushtail and ringtail possums and sugar gliders, from pinkie stage through to weaning. As possums and gliders do not move through Stage 2 or Stage 3, Possum Milk is the one formula a carer needs from start to finish. For pinkie, neonatal, or compromised possums that need extra digestive support in their earliest days, begin with Biolac Starter 100 Plus, which is enriched with GOS for gastrointestinal health, then move to Possum Milk once the animal is stable and feeding well.

Possum Milk Feeding Guide

Possum Milk is mixed at 16g of powder made up to 100ml of warm water. Feed at 13% of body weight per day, divided into 6 feeds. Possums remain on Possum Milk for their entire milk-dependent period — there is no stage progression. Weigh your joey regularly and adjust volumes as it grows.

Preparation: Add 16g of Biolac Formula, then add warm water to make up to 100ml. Stir until fully dissolved. Warm gently in a warm water bath before feeding. Do not microwave. Store in a cool, dry place and use within 3 months of opening. Refrigerate any reconstituted formula and use within 24 hours.

I am a wildlife shelter in East Gippsland

I am a wildlife shelter in East Gippsland, I use Biolac for most of my ringtails. It’s the only milk they adapt to readily. It’s a lovely milk to work with, it doesn’t separate in the fridge. The fact that it can be bought in bulk bags is another reason why I use it. The price is very competitive. The wildlife do well on it with no complications so far.
