Biolac Flying Fox Plus is a complete milk replacer for infant flying foxes and bats, enriched with galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS), a prebiotic fibre that supports gut health and digestion. It provides essential nutrients for healthy bone development and growth through fully digestible carbohydrates, proteins and lipids, along with an enhanced vitamin and mineral profile. The added GOS makes it well suited to the most vulnerable animals in care.

Use Flying Fox Plus for very young pups, compromised or debilitated animals, and any flying fox newly into care, where extra digestive support helps settle the gut through the critical early days. Suitable for flying foxes, megabats and microbats. Once the animal is stable, feeding well, and tolerating its formula, move to standard Biolac Flying Fox Milk for ongoing rearing through to weaning onto fruit. Unlike marsupials, flying foxes are not moved through staged formulas as they grow; the choice between Flying Fox Plus and Flying Fox Milk is based on the animal's condition rather than its age.

Flying Fox Feeding Guide

Biolac Flying Fox Milk is concentrated. Mix 14g powder made up to 70mL water. Feed 20-25% of body weight daily, divided into 4-5 feeds depending on age and development. The milk-dependent period runs from rescue through to weaning at around 11–12 weeks. Volumes below are a guide based on age — always feed to the pup’s appetite and condition, and never force-feed.

Do not overfeed. This is a concentrated formula. A 100g pup should take around 25mL per day, not per feed. For arrival feeds, transition 50:50 milk/water for the first feed, 75:25 for the second, then full strength from the third feed onward.

Preparation: Add 14g of Biolac formula, then add warm pre-boiled water to make up to 70mL total. Stir until fully dissolved. Warm gently in a water bath to ~32–35°C before feeding. Do not microwave. Refrigerate any reconstituted formula and use within 24 hours.
