BIOLAC M200 is a high-energy milk replacement formula designed for late-stage marsupial joeys. This nutrient-rich formula contains elevated lipids to support the increased energy needs of growing joeys as they approach weaning.
Preparation: Mix 24g (2 BIOLAC scoops) of M200 powder with 100ml of pre-boiled warm water. Shake well before each use.
Feeding: Offer 10-15% of the animal's body weight per day, divided into 3-4 feeds.
Transitioning: M200 is the final stage milk formula for most marsupials. Transition from M200 to solid foods as follows:
1. Introduce small amounts of species-appropriate solid foods while continuing M200 feeds
2. Gradually increase solid food intake and decrease M200 volume
3. Reduce the number of M200 feeds as solid food consumption increases
4. Continue offering M200 until the animal naturally weans itself
The weaning process varies greatly between species and individuals. Always consult a wildlife care expert for species-specific weaning advice.
Species-specific notes:
- Macropods: Transition to M200 when the joey produces solid, dark pellet droppings.
- Koalas: Use M200 for late-stage feeding after M150.
- Wombats: Introduce M200 from about 4kg body weight until weaning, offering about 300ml per day.
- Possums: M200 is generally not used for possums.
