BIOLAC M150 is a transition milk formula designed for growing marsupials as they progress towards independence. This formula bridges the gap between early-stage and late-stage milk replacements, providing the right balance of nutrients for developing joeys.
Preparation: Mix 18g (1 BIOLAC scoop) of M150 powder with 100ml of pre-boiled warm water. Shake well before each use.
Feeding: Offer 10-15% of the animal's body weight per day, divided into 4-5 feeds.
Transitioning: When moving from M150 to M200, follow this guide:
1. Increase M150 to 20g per 100ml and start M200 at 20g per 100ml
2. Mix 3/4 M150 (15g) with 1/4 M200 (5g) per 100ml for 3-5 days
3. Mix 1/2 M150 (10g) with 1/2 M200 (10g) per 100ml for 3-5 days
4. Mix 1/4 M150 (5g) with 3/4 M200 (15g) per 100ml for 3-5 days
5. Move to full M200 at 20g per 100ml for 3-5 days
6. Gradually increase to the recommended 24g of M200 per 100ml
If diarrhea, constipation, or bloating occurs, extend the transition period. Some animals may need weeks to adjust.
Species-specific notes:
- Macropods: Transition to M150 when dense fur has developed.
- Koalas: Use M150 for older animals before transitioning to M200.
- Wombats: Introduce M150 from about 1.8-2kg body weight until 3.5-4kg.
- Possums: M150 is generally not used for possums.
