BIOLAC M100 is a specially formulated milk replacement for young marsupials, designed to mimic the early stages of marsupial milk. This versatile formula is suitable for furless and velveted joeys of various species, including macropods, possums, and wombats.
Preparation: Mix 16g (1 BIOLAC scoop) of M100 powder with 100ml of pre-boiled warm water. Shake well before each use.
Feeding: Offer 10-15% of the animal's body weight per day, divided into 5-6 feeds.
M100 GOS variant: For critical care patients, furless joeys and possums, we recommend M100 GOS with added galacto-oligosaccharides. This formula is ideal for the first 24 hours of care and should be used until the animal's eyes open and ears are nearly erect.
Transitioning: When moving from M100 GOS to regular M100, no specific transition period is needed. For transitioning from M100 to M150, follow this guide:
1. Mix 3/4 M100 with 1/4 M150 for 3-5 days
2. Mix 1/2 M100 with 1/2 M150 for 3-5 days
3. Mix 1/4 M100 with 3/4 M150 for 3-5 days
4. Move to full M150 if no adverse reactions occur
Species-specific notes:
- Macropods: Use M100 for furless and velveted joeys.
- Possums: Use M100 GOS when stable, then transition to regular M100 until weaned.
- Koalas: Start with M100 due to higher lipid content in early lactation.
- Wombats: Use M100 from 300g to about 1.8-2kg body weight.
